Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD) and the visiting Southern Rams (Oakland, MD), saw Mountain Ridge's basketball squad hold off Southern by a tally of 66-64.

With the victory, Mountain Ridge improves its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Miners host Fort Hill (Cumberland, MD) to play the Sentinels in a Appalachian challenge on Friday, January 6. The Sentinels come into the challenge with a record of 4-1. Fort Hill won 70-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Boonsboro (Boonsboro, MD)

Next up, the Rams play the Northern Huskies (Accident, MD) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 13. Southern will attempt to improve on its 0-4 season record.
