Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors (Downey, CA) and the visiting Salesian Mustangs (Los Angeles, CA), saw St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy's basketball squad knock off Salesian by a tally of 72-58.

With the victory, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy improves its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Oak Park (Oak Park, CA) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 11-7. Oak Park won 68-35 in their recent league challenge against Royal (Simi Valley, CA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Paraclete Spirits (Lancaster, CA) in a Camino Real challenge, on Friday, January 6. Salesian will attempt to improve on its 10-8 season record. The Spirits come into the challenge with a 17-1 record after their 79-44 league win over La Salle (Pasadena, CA).
