The Black River Pirates basketball team (Sullivan, OH), was nudged 58-56 in Wednesday's league battle with the visiting Firelands Falcons (Oberlin, OH)

The Falcons now possess a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Keystone for a Lorain County 8 contest on Saturday, January 7. Firelands will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 39-34 league win over Columbia (Columbia Station, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 11-0.

The Pirates (5-4) will now prepare for their contest against Brookside (Sheffield, OH). The Cardinals enter the Lorain County 8 contest with a 1-9 record. In their last contest, Brookside was nudged by Wellington (Wellington, OH), 56-13, in a league contest.
