In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Burns Hilanders (Burns, OR) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Grant Union Prospectors (John Day, OR), by a margin of 55-13.
The Hilanders (8-3) will now prepare for their outing against Nixyaawii Community (Pendleton, OR). The Eagles go into the non-league outing with a 9-2 record. In their last outing, Nixyaawii Community was trounced by Crane (Crane, OR), 56-45, in a non-league outing.
The Prospectors now own a 1-8 record. They play next when they host Heppner for a 2A Blue Mountain outing on Saturday, January 7. Grant Union will clash with a Mustangs squad coming off a 28-23 non-league win over Vernonia (Vernonia, OR). The Mustangs record now stands at 5-7.
