Virginia High School Basketball - Galax ripped by Rural Retreat

January 4, 2023: Rural Retreat, VA 24368

The Rural Retreat Indians basketball team scored 45 points and held the visiting Galax Maroon Tide to 16 in the Indians non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Indians now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Patrick Henry for a Hogoheegee contest on Friday, January 6. Rural Retreat will meet a Rebels team coming off a 53-25 non-league loss to Eastside (Coeburn, VA). The Rebels record now stands at 2-10.

The Maroon Tide (6-5) will now prepare for their contest against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Pioneers enter the Mountain Empire contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, Fort Chiswell triumphed over Auburn (Riner, VA), 62-46, in a league contest.
