The Hand Tigers (Madison, CT) basketball nipped the visiting Mercy Tigers (Middletown, CT), 53-50 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Tigers (7-0) will now prepare for their test against Hamden (Hamden, CT). The Green Dragons go into the non-league test with a 8-0 record. In their last test, Hamden got by Wilbur Cross (New Haven, CT), 49-13, in a league test.
The Tigers now own a 5-1 record. They play next when they host Sacred Heart Academy for a Southern Connecticut - Hammonasset test on Friday, January 6. Mercy will encounter a squad coming off a 52-18 non-league win over Lyman Hall (Wallingford, CT). The record now stands at 5-1.
