The Tarboro Vikings basketball team scored 65 points and held the visiting North Edgecombe Warriors to 47 in the Vikings non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Vikings now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Perquimans for a 1A Conference 2 contest on Friday, January 6. Tarboro will meet a Pirates team coming off a 69-44 league win over Washington County (Plymouth, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 8-2.

The Warriors (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Northampton County (Gaston, NC). The Jaguars enter the 1A Conference 9 contest with a 6-0 record. In their last contest, Northampton County ran past Southeast Halifax (Halifax, NC), 49-33, in a league contest.
