North Carolina High School Basketball - Draughn edges Freedom

The Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 41-35 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Wildcats (4-3) will now prepare for their test against Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Rosman got by Madison (Marshall, NC), 23-19, in a league test.
The Patriots now own a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Hibriten for a non-league test on Friday, January 6. Freedom will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 22-15 non-league win over South Point (Belmont, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 3-4.
