Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Nottoway Cougars (Nottoway, VA), 40-34 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Buckingham upgrades its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Knights host Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Friday, January 6. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 0-5.

Next up, the Cougars play the Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. Nottoway will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 4-0 record after their 54-40 non-league win over Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA).
