The Waterville Panthers (Waterville, ME) basketball knocked off the host Belfast Lions (Belfast, ME), 64-49 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Panthers (2-6) will now prepare for their test against Maine Central Institute (Pittsfield, ME). The Huskies go into the non-league test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Maine Central Institute went down by Lincoln Academy (Newcastle, ME), 68-35, in a non-league test.
The Lions now own a 1-5 record. They play next when they host Leavitt for a non-league test on Saturday, January 6. Belfast will encounter a Hornets squad coming off a 53-29 non-league loss to Winslow (Winslow, ME). The Hornets record now stands at 2-6.
