The Deer Creek Warriors basketball team (Arcola, MS), was nudged 36-32 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Briarfield Academy Rebels (Lake Providence, LA)

The Rebels now sport a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Riverdale Academy for a MAIS 2A District 4 battle on Friday, January 5. Briarfield Academy will battle a Rebels team coming off a 71-38 non-league loss to Columbus Christian Academy (Steens, MS). The Rebels record now stands at 2-5.

The Warriors (0-3) will now prepare for their battle against Central Holmes Christian (Lexington, MS). The Trojans come into the MAIS 3A District 2 battle with a 11-2 record.
