St. James Sharks (Murrells Inlet, SC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Christian Academy Saints (Myrtle Beach, SC), 68-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. James upgrades its record to 12-1 on the season. The Sharks travel to Conway (Conway, SC) to clash with the Tigers in a AAAAA Region 5 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 8-8. Conway lost 38-33 in their recent non-league bout against Marion (Marion, SC)

Next up, the Saints clash with the Carolina Academy Bobcats (Lake City, SC) in a SCISA AAA Region II bout, on Friday, January 5. Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 53-33 non-league loss to Wilson Hall (Sumter, SC).
