The River Oaks Mustangs basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Franklin Academy Cougars to 32 in the Mustangs league triumph on Thursday.

The Mustangs now sport a 9-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tensas Academy for a non-league contest on Friday, January 5. River Oaks will battle a Chiefs team coming off a 55-33 league loss to Wilkinson County Christian Academy (Woodville, MS). The Chiefs record now stands at 0-5.

The Cougars (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Prairie View Academy (Bastrop, LA). The Spartans enter the MAIS 3A District 4 contest with a 9-2 record. In their last contest, Prairie View Academy was routed by Hillcrest Christian (Jackson, MS), 65-29, in a league contest.
