Maryville Red Rebels (Maryville, TN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hardin Valley Academy Hawks (Knoxville, TN), 63-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Maryville upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Red Rebels travel to King's Academy (Seymour, TN) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 5-13. King's Academy won 72-28 in their recent league bout against Clayton-Bradley Academy (Maryville, TN)

Next up, the Hawks play the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes (Morristown, TN) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 8. Hardin Valley Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 11-7 season record. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a 15-5 record after their 54-37 league win over Morristown-Hamblen West (Morristown, TN).
