Sumner Academy Sabres (Kansas City, KS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Harmon Hawks (Kansas City, KS), 61-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sumner Academy upgrades its record to 2-3 on the season. The Sabres travel to Wyandotte (Kansas City, KS) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Wyandotte lost 91-41 in their recent non-league bout against Atchison (Atchison, KS)

Next up, the Hawks play the Schlagle Stallions (Kansas City, KS) in a Meadowlark bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Harmon will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Stallions go into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 71-31 non-league loss to Washington (Kansas City, KS).
