West Virginia High School Basketball - Webster County thwarted by James Monroe

The Webster County Highlanders basketball team (Upper Glade, WV), was toppled 59-51 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting James Monroe Mavericks (Lindside, WV)

The Mavericks now possess a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Greenbrier West for a Coalfield A battle on Saturday, January 6. James Monroe will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 71-63 non-league win over Independence (Coal City, WV). The Cavaliers record now stands at 3-3.

The Highlanders (6-1) will now prepare for their battle against Roane County (Spencer, WV). The Raiders come into the Little Kanawha - East battle with a 3-5 record.
