Star Valley Braves (Afton, WY) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Sugar-Salem Diggers (Sugar City, ID), 61-58 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Star Valley upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Braves host Big Piney (Big Piney, WY) to play the Punchers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Punchers come into the bout with a record of 4-5. Big Piney won 75-55 in their recent non-league bout against Shoshoni (Shoshoni, WY)

Next up, the Diggers play the Ririe Bulldogs (Ririe, ID) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Sugar-Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 54-34 non-league loss to West Side (Dayton, ID).
