Sumner Spartans (Sumner, WA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Curtis Vikings (University Place, WA), 53-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sumner upgrades its record to 7-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to Puyallup (Puyallup, WA) to clash with the Vikings in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 4-3. Puyallup won 53-18 in their recent non-league bout against South Kitsap (Port Orchard, WA)

Next up, the Vikings clash with the Olympia Bears (Olympia, WA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Curtis will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 50-34 non-league win over Emerald Ridge (South Hill, WA).
