The Benton Zephyrs basketball team (Benton, WI), was nudged 44-42 in Thursday's league battle with the host Shullsburg Miners (Shullsburg, WI)
The Miners now possess a 5-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lancaster for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 9. Shullsburg will battle a Flying Arrows team coming off a 57-50 league loss to Prairie du Chien (Prairie du Chien, WI). The Flying Arrows record now stands at 3-7.
The Zephyrs (3-10) will now prepare for their battle against Iowa-Grant (Livingston, WI). The Panthers come into the non-league battle with a 5-6 record. In their last battle, Iowa-Grant edged Riverdale (Muscoda, WI), 68-52, in a league battle.
