Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Bishop Canevin Crusaders (Pittsburgh, PA), 58-22 in a league bout.

With the win, Union Area upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Scotties host Eden Christian Academy (Pittsburgh, PA) to play the in a WPIAL 1A 1 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The go into the bout with a record of 5-6.

Next up, the Crusaders play the Aliquippa Quips (Aliquippa, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Bishop Canevin will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Quips go into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 57-43 league win over Sewickley Academy (Sewickley, PA).
