Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Yough Cougars (Herminie, PA) and the visiting Charleroi Cougars (Charleroi, PA), saw Yough's basketball squad overcome Charleroi by a tally of 47-39.

With the victory, Yough improves its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to McGuffey (Claysville, PA) to confront the Highlanders in a WPIAL 3A 4 challenge on Thursday, January 11. The Highlanders come into the challenge with a record of 9-2.

Next up, the Cougars confront the Ringgold Rams (Monongahela, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 5. Charleroi will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 61-28 league loss to West Mifflin (West Mifflin, PA).
