The Escalante Moquis basketball team (Escalante, UT), was toppled 44-28 in Thursday's league battle with the host Piute Thunderbirds (Junction, UT)
The Thunderbirds now possess a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Milford for a 1A Region 20 battle on Wednesday, January 10. Piute will confront a Tigers team coming off a 63-46 league loss to Panguitch (Panguitch, UT). The Tigers record now stands at 7-5.
The Moquis (3-8) will now prepare for their battle against Bryce Valley (Tropic, UT). The Mustangs come into the 1A Region 20 battle with a 5-5 record. In their last battle, Bryce Valley beat Wayne (Bicknell, UT), 41-40, in a league battle.
