Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD) and the host Fort Hill Sentinels (Cumberland, MD), saw Mountain Ridge's basketball squad wallop Fort Hill by a count of 54-24.

With the victory, Mountain Ridge upgrades its record to 8-1 on the campaign. The Miners host Northern (Accident, MD) to play the Huskies in a Appalachian Mountain challenge on Monday, January 8. The Huskies come into the challenge with a record of 5-2. Northern won 53-31 in their recent non-league challenge against Rockwood (Rockwood, PA)

Next up, the Sentinels play the Hancock Panthers (Hancock, MD) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 5. Fort Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 46-13 non-league loss to North Hagerstown (Hagerstown, MD).
