Governor Livingston Highlanders (Berkeley Heights, NJ) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Johnson Crusaders (Clark, NJ), 44-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Governor Livingston upgrades its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Highlanders host Hillside (Hillside, NJ) to play the Comets in a Union County - Valley bout on Saturday, January 6. The Comets come into the bout with a record of 1-6. Hillside lost 45-26 in their recent league bout against Dayton (Springfield, NJ)

Next up, the Crusaders play the Plainfield Cardinals (Plainfield, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Johnson will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 6-1 record after their 55-50 non-league win over Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, NJ).
