St. Clair Cyclones (St. Clair, MN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Maple River Eagles (Mapleton, MN), 71-62 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Clair upgrades its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Cyclones travel to Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial (Lake Crystal, MN) to play the Knights in a AA Section 2 bout on Friday, January 5. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 7-4. Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial won 82-48 in their recent league bout against Minnesota Valley Lutheran (New Ulm, MN)

Next up, the Eagles play the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms (Blooming Prairie, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Maple River will attempt to upgrade on its 13-9 season record. The Awesome Blossoms come into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 66-57 non-league win over Zumbrota-Mazeppa (Zumbrota, MN).
