In Thursday's league match, the visiting Mapleton Mounties basketball team scored a decisive 42-17 triumph over the Western Reserve Roughriders.
In their next game, the Mounties meet the Northwestern Huskies (West Salem, OH) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 6. Mapleton will attempt to move on its 6-4 season record. The Huskies enter the match with a 4-7 record after their 76-40 league loss to Waynedale (Apple Creek, OH).
With the defeat, Western Reserve moves to 2-8 on the year. The Roughriders travel to Plymouth (Plymouth, OH) to meet the Big Red in a Firelands match on Friday, January 12. The Big Red enter the match with a record of 4-5.
