The Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes (Malvern, PA) basketball knocked off the host Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic (Flourtown, PA), 51-36 in Thursday's league test.

The Hurricanes (7-4) will now prepare for their test against Springfield (Springfield, PA). The Cougars go into the non-league test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Springfield went down by Lower Merion (Ardmore, PA), 40-34, in a league test.

The Magic now own a 4-8 record. They play next when they travel to Merion Mercy Academy for a Catholic Academies test on Tuesday, January 9.
