South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Byhalia Indians (Byhalia, MS), 5-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars confront the Amory Panthers (Amory, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 6. South Pontotoc will attempt to better on its 7-9 season record.

The Indians now have a 0-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Independence for a Class 1 Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. Byhalia will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 7-0 league loss to Vardaman (Vardaman, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-7.
