The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Crookston Pirates (Crookston, MN) and the visiting Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines (Wadena, MN), observed Crookston's basketball team overwhelm Wadena-Deer Creek by a score of 77-49.

The Pirates (3-3) will now prepare for their challenge against East Grand Forks (East Grand Forks, MN). The Green Wave come into the AA Section 8 challenge with a 6-3 record. In their last challenge, East Grand Forks trounced Pelican Rapids (Pelican Rapids, MN), 62-57, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Wolverines encounter the Bertha-Hewitt Bears (Bertha, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Wadena-Deer Creek will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record.
