In Saturday's league contest, the host Deering Rams basketball team scored a close 50-49 triumph over the Scarborough Red Storm.

The Rams (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against Sanford (Sanford, ME). The Spartans go into the AA South contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Sanford was tipped by Greely (Cumberland Center, ME), 56-43, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Red Storm confront the Falmouth Navigators (Falmouth, ME) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Scarborough will attempt to better on its 4-4 season record. The Navigators go into the contest with a 7-2 record after their 64-39 league win over Brunswick (Brunswick, ME).
