The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Union Bobcats (Union, OR) and the visiting Grant Union Prospectors (John Day, OR), observed Union's basketball team overwhelm Grant Union by a score of 64-41.
The Bobcats (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Weston-McEwen (Athena, OR). The TigerScots come into the non-league challenge with a 8-5 record. In their last challenge, Weston-McEwen trounced Powder Valley (North Powder, OR), 69-50, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Prospectors encounter the Stanfield Tigers (Stanfield, OR) in a 2A Blue Mountain challenge, on Friday, January 10. Grant Union will attempt to improve on its 7-4 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 9-5 record after their 67-62 non-league loss to Umatilla (Umatilla, OR).
