In Saturday's league contest, the visiting Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack basketball team scored a close 72-70 triumph over the Hazleton Area Cougars.

The Wolfpack (6-5) will now prepare for their battle against Dallas (Dallas, PA). The Mountaineers enter the Wyoming Valley 1 battle with a 8-4 record. In their last battle, Dallas tipped Crestwood (Mountain Top, PA), 55-48, in a league battle.
