The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Shikellamy Braves (Sunbury, PA) and the host Midd-West Mustangs (Middleburg, PA), observed Shikellamy's basketball team overwhelm Midd-West by a score of 67-40.

The Braves (2-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Shamokin Area (Coal Township, PA). The Indians come into the Heartland I challenge with a 9-2 record. In their last challenge, Shamokin Area trounced Central Mountain (Mill Hall, PA), 69-49, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the Mifflinburg Wildcats (Mifflinburg, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 6. Midd-West will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 46-44 league loss to Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA).
