The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the South Umpqua Lancers (Myrtle Creek, OR) and the visiting Myrtle Point Bobcats (Myrtle Point, OR), observed South Umpqua's basketball team overwhelm Myrtle Point by a score of 57-32.

The Lancers (7-4) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Mary's (Medford, OR). The Crusaders come into the non-league challenge with a 4-6 record. In their last challenge, St. Mary's was routed by Catlin Gabel (Portland, OR), 55-47, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Bobcats battle the Waldport Irish (Waldport, OR) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Myrtle Point will attempt to improve on its 3-9 season record. The Irish come into the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 63-17 non-league loss to Santiam (Mill City, OR).
