The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Southside Panthers (Gadsden, AL) and the host Wellborn Panthers (Anniston, AL), observed Southside's basketball team overwhelm Wellborn by a score of 65-30.

The Panthers (11-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Fort Payne (Fort Payne, AL). The Wildcats come into the 6A Area 14 challenge with a 13-4 record. In their last challenge, Fort Payne trounced Scottsboro (Scottsboro, AL), 53-48, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Randolph County Tigers (Wedowee, AL) in a 3A Area 9 challenge, on Monday, January 6. Wellborn will attempt to improve on its 1-10 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 2-12 record after their 51-42 non-league win over Woodland (Woodland, AL).
