The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Union Grove Wolverines (McDonough, GA) and the host McDonough Warhawks (McDonough, GA), observed Union Grove's basketball team edge McDonough by a score of 50-45.
The Wolverines (10-4) will now prepare for their battle against Ola (McDonough, GA). The Mustangs enter the AAAA Region 2 battle with a 10-3 record. In their last battle, Ola was nudged by Woodland (Stockbridge, GA), 62-43, in a league battle.
The Warhawks now own a 5-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Stockbridge for a AAAA Region 2 battle on Tuesday, January 7. McDonough will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 77-57 non-league win over Northgate (Newnan, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 11-2.
