The Westhampton Beach Hurricanes were victorious over the visiting Walt Whitman Wildcats basketball squad by a final score of 48-38 in Saturday's non-league outing.

Next, the Hurricanes face the Wyandanch Warriors (Wyandanch, NY) in a Section 11 AA-5 outing, on Friday, January 10. Westhampton Beach will attempt to upgrade on its 2-0 season record. The Warriors enter the outing with a 1-8 record after their 53-37 league loss to Rocky Point (Rocky Point, NY).

The Wildcats (7-1) will now prepare for their outing against Brentwood (Brentwood, NY). The Indians enter the Section 11 AAA-1 outing with a 2-0 record. In their last outing, Brentwood ran past William Floyd (Mastic Beach, NY), 51-42, in a league outing.
