Rhode Island High School Ice Hockey - Bishop Hendricken holds off Smithfield

In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Bishop Hendricken Hawks ice hockey team scored a close 4-3 victory over the Smithfield Sentinels.

The Hawks (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Xavier (Middletown, CT). The Falcons go into the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Xavier was nipped by Amity Regional (Woodbridge, CT), 3-2, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Sentinels play the Cranston East Thunderbolts (Cranston, RI) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, January 8. Smithfield will attempt to better on its 1-3 season record. The Thunderbolts go into the contest with a 0-2 record after their 18-1 non-league loss to Pilgrim (Warwick, RI).
