The Bayou Academy Colts basketball team (Cleveland, MS), was nudged 58-51 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Pillow Academy Mustangs (Greenwood, MS)
The Mustangs now possess a 2-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Starkville Academy for a MAIS 5A District 1 battle on Tuesday, January 10. Pillow Academy will confront a Volunteers team coming off a 68-27 non-league win over Grace Christian (Louisville, MS). The Volunteers record now stands at 11-8.
The Colts (11-10) will now prepare for their battle against Magnolia Heights (Senatobia, MS). The Chiefs come into the MAIS 5A District 1 battle with a 3-8 record. In their last battle, Magnolia Heights edged Pillow Academy (Greenwood, MS), 60-34, in a league battle.
