Sault Area Blue Devils (Sault St. Marie, MI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Cheboygan Chiefs (Cheboygan, MI), 60-33 in a league bout.

With the win, Sault Area upgrades its record to 3-2 on the season. The Blue Devils host Alpena (Alpena, MI) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Monday, January 9. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 2-5. Alpena lost 76-42 in their recent league bout against Petoskey (Petoskey, MI)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Rudyard Bulldogs (Rudyard, MI) in a Eastern Upper Peninsula bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Cheboygan will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 58-53 non-league win over Cedarville (Cedarville, MI).
