Demopolis Tigers (Demopolis, AL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Sipsey Valley Bears (Buhl, AL), 49-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Demopolis upgrades its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The Tigers host Brewbaker Tech (Montgomery, AL) to play the Rams in a 5A Area 5 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 7-9. Brewbaker Tech lost 75-56 in their recent non-league bout against Bay (Panama City, FL)

Next up, the Bears play the Paul W. Bryant Stampede (Cottondale, AL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Sipsey Valley will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record.
