Holyoke Purple Knights (Holyoke, MA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Putnam Vo-Tech Beavers (Springfield, MA), 72-69 in a league bout.

With the win, Holyoke upgrades its record to 3-3 on the season. The Purple Knights host Central (Springfield, MA) to clash with the Golden Eagles in a Valley bout on Monday, January 9. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a record of 5-1. Central won 59-53 in their recent non-league bout against Northampton (Northampton, MA)

Next up, the Beavers clash with the Bassick Lions (Bridgeport, CT) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Putnam Vo-Tech will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 2-6 record after their 85-58 non-league win over Bridgeport Central (Bridgeport, CT).
