The Irvington Blue Knights (Irvington, NJ) basketball knocked off the visiting Payne Tech Lions (Newark, NJ), 64-54 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Blue Knights (10-1) will now prepare for their test against Columbia (Maplewood, NJ). The Cougars go into the Super Essex - American test with a 9-3 record. In their last test, Columbia notched a victory over East Side (Newark, NJ), 58-57, in a league test.
The Lions now own a 4-3 record. They play next when they travel to East Orange Campus for a Super Essex - Liberty test on Saturday, January 7. Payne Tech will encounter a Jaguars squad coming off a 57-49 league win over Central (Newark, NJ). The Jaguars record now stands at 2-6.
