South Dakota High School Basketball - Philip tops Jones County

January 5, 2023: Murdo, SD 57559

Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Philip Scotties (Philip, SD) and the host Jones County Coyotes (Murdo, SD), saw Philip's basketball squad knock off Jones County by a count of 52-36.

With the victory, Philip upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Scotties travel to Bison (Bison, SD) to play the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 6. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 2-1. Bison won 75-30 in their recent league challenge against Takini (Howes, SD)

Next up, the Coyotes play the Wall Eagles (Wall, SD) in a B Region 7 challenge, on Friday, January 6. Jones County will attempt to advance on its 1-4 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 2-4 record after their 49-47 non-league loss to Belle Fourche (Belle Fourche, SD).
