San Marcos Royals (Santa Barbara, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Buena Bulldogs (Ventura, CA), 61-44 in a league bout.

With the win, San Marcos upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Royals travel to Pacifica (Oxnard, CA) to play the Tritons in a Channel bout on Thursday, January 12. The Tritons go into the bout with a record of 10-5.

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Ventura Cougars (Ventura, CA) in a Channel bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Buena will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 56-34 non-league win over Downey (Downey, CA).
