The Cranford Cougars (Cranford, NJ) basketball nipped the host Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders (Scotch Plains, NJ), 54-47 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Cougars (1-7) will now prepare for their test against New Providence (New Providence, NJ). The Pioneers go into the Union County - Valley test with a 5-1 record.

The Raiders now own a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to Westfield for a non-league test on Saturday, January 7. Scotch Plains-Fanwood will encounter a Blue Devils squad coming off a 48-24 non-league win over Summit (Summit, NJ). The Blue Devils record now stands at 4-3.
