Dardanelle Sand Lizards (Dardanelle, AR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mena Bearcats (Mena, AR), 55-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Dardanelle upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Sand Lizards travel to Fountain Lake (Hot Springs National Park, AR) to play the Cobras in a 4A Region 4 bout on Saturday, January 7. The Cobras go into the bout with a record of 5-8. Fountain Lake lost 53-36 in their recent league bout against Pottsville (Pottsville, AR)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Waldron Bulldogs (Waldron, AR) in a 4A Region 4 bout, on Saturday, January 7. Mena will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 0-12 record after their 67-32 league loss to Morrilton (Morrilton, AR).
