Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the English Valleys Bears (North English, IA) and the visiting Highland Huskies (Riverside, IA), saw English Valleys's basketball squad knock off Highland by a count of 54-44.

With the victory, English Valleys upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Bears host Montezuma (Montezuma, IA) to play the Braves in a South Iowa Cedar challenge on Friday, January 6. The Braves come into the challenge with a record of 8-1. Montezuma won 57-56 in their recent non-league challenge against Prairie City-Monroe (Monroe, IA)

Next up, the Huskies play the Lone Tree Lions (Lone Tree, IA) in a SEI - North challenge, on Friday, January 13. Highland will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record.
