Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Moline Maroons (Moline, IL), 49-46 in a league bout.

With the win, Geneseo upgrades its record to 14-3 on the season. The Maple Leafs travel to Pleasant Valley (Pleasant Valley, IA) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 11-0. Pleasant Valley won 66-29 in their recent league bout against Central Clinton (DeWitt, IA)

Next up, the Maroons play the Galesburg Silver Streaks (Galesburg, IL) in a Western Big 6 bout, on Thursday, January 12. Moline will attempt to upgrade on its 4-15 season record. The Silver Streaks go into the bout with a 18-4 record after their 76-44 non-league win over Manual (Peoria, IL).
