The Jefferson Cougars (Shenandoah Junction, WV) basketball knocked off the visiting Goretti Gael (Hagerstown, MD), 50-36 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Cougars (3-4) will now prepare for their test against Musselman (Inwood, WV). The Applemen go into the Eastern Panhandle test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Musselman went down by George Washington (Charleston, WV), 55-23, in a non-league test.
The Gael now own a 4-6 record. They play next when they travel to Cumberland Valley Christian for a non-league battle on Monday, January 9. Goretti will confront a Blazers team coming off a 42-40 league loss to Calvary Christian Academy (Cresaptown, MD). The Blazers record now stands at 4-5.
